A Time for Peace, Kindness and Connectedness

I see this as a time for self-healing and a time for authentic connectedness. I think that many of us were running on very low energy levels, maybe even on empty. It’s not always easy to find time to fully recharge. Some of us were lost in a world of constant stimulation, forgetting about the necessity of peace, reflection and true kinship.

Not just a city –or even a country– but the whole world has been immobilized. We are all together in this. There are so many questions, left without answer. I can’t help but wonder what the deeper meaning might be, behind all the uncertainty we are now facing. Over the years, there has been so much social divide… and here we are, a global community, thrust into a worrisome event without notice.

The lesson I take from this is that so much needed to change on our planet. At present, we are all striving for a common goal. We have all come together for the first time in the history of humanity to preserve life. Did this happen to shake us up and make us realize how precious life is? When this is over, are we going to seize the opportunity to recreate our world and put all our efforts into making it the best it can be?

As many, I am taking time to adjust to a new reality, but also getting back to what used to matter most and that has been lost along the way because of our busy lifestyle. I am personally trying to train my mind to live in the present moment, truly enjoy the little things that spark joy in my life: my children, my family and my friends.

Even though we’re confined to our homes, we’re still connecting, and I am so grateful for that! We’re seeing so much positivity, hope and faith through the heartbreak. There is encouragement among strangers, kindness and generosity like I’ve never seen before. It’s simply beautiful. And there is one miracle that many of us haven’t seen, the divide is disappearing… perhaps we are gravitating towards a higher understanding of what acceptance and empathy truly means and hopefully it will expand and follow us and the next generations into a brighter future.

Make this time meaningful, be in the present moment, enjoy the time spent with the family in your home and chat with others on the phone!
