June closed her umbrella, set it aside and knocked on the back door. She heard Harold say, “Entrez,” and was about to walk in, when a soft glow caught her gaze. Looking up towards the sky, she saw the clouds parting and the moon took a peek at her. She thought of Hazel’s prediction and felt awkward, like she shouldn’t have come. Nevertheless, she opened the door, and a burst of divine scents came from within; it was like opening an oven to a perfectly baked pie. There was a small corridor and a few steps to climb before entering his fabulous kitchen. Slowly moving forward, she began to terribly doubt her eccentric behavior. How will he perceive me after tonight? She couldn’t help but wonder, knowing all too well that she was breaking the boundaries that she had meticulously set-up. Will he believe that I have some sort of interest in him? This no longer felt like a good idea to her, in fact she was suddenly dying to turn back. How dare she befriend the man she loathed so profoundly? Unfortunately, it was far too late to turn back now. “Mais, qui est-ce?” she heard him say as it was taking her an awfully long time to go up those few stairs...
